Diego Janssen

Diego Janssen is an Uruguayan multi-instrumentalist composer and producer.
He has become one of the most important innovators of South America, fusing live looping techniques with live streaming to make unique musical experiences. This 2020 he started a new duo project with the legendary Hugo Fattoruso.
Critics have called his debut album “El hijo de”, one of Uruguay’s best albums of the decade, breaking ground for a new evolution of candombe.
In his music, there’s a clear tendency to experimentation and the fusion of elements of Uruguayan roots music, as well as the influence of his time in the studio as a producer and his academic studies in music and technology.
Psychedelic Candombe is how he called his new genre, related to Jazz, World Music, Progressive Rock, and Afrobeat.
