Raúl Pérez started his project in 2014.
He is a composer experimenting with contemporary jazz and jazz fusion.
He played with his jazz trio at the El Hatillo Jazz Festival and was invited again in 2015 with his guitar duo project.
He explores free improvisation through home recordings, being one of the researchers of this genre in Venezuela.
More recently he has developed a duo project for both guitars and other instruments where he explores jazz standards, his compositions, and Latin American music.
As of 2016, he began to play as a soloist, playing standards and his own compositions.
In 2018 he recorded and released his first album entitled “Contraluz” with drummer Ángel Villarroel and double bass player Carlos Rodríguez.
It was released digitally and in 2019 on web platforms such as Bandcamp and Cusica.
The same year he participated in the Sounds of Jazz series organized by the Centro Cultural BOD.
He is currently writing and arranging his next album.
