Christian Galvez

Christian Gálvez (Santiago, March 16, 1977) is a prominent Chilean bassist, composer, and producer who has developed mainly jazz, jazz fusion, and Latin American fusion. He is recognized for developing the Chord Melody technique and self-accompaniment on the electric bass, being a worldwide contribution to the bass soloist playing.
In 2005 he joined the Chilean Project performing in Chile with Billy Cobham and Stanley Clarke Band, with whom he toured Europe, Asia, and the United States.
In 2007 he transferred to Los Angeles, USA, to join the Stanley Clarke band. During 2013 and 2015 he created several projects and joined bands with important jazz stars such as The Masters Of Bass with Gary Willis, Dominique Dipiazza, and Hadrien Feraud. Trace Elements with Paolo di Sabatino, Dennis Chambers, Jojo Meyer, and also toured Europe, Russia, and Latin America with guitarist Frank Gambale.
In 2015 he joined Billy Cobham’s Band recording and touring around the world.
The following year he started to play with  the Stanley Jordan Band and the Jordan Galvez Duo, both active until now.
In January 2019 he travels to New York City to record his new solo album “The Art Of Chordmelody”, probably the most important album to his name, showing the maturity of his unique approach to bass playing.
Guests: Ron Carter, Eddie Gómez, John Patitucci, Dave Young, Pat O’Leary and the young musicians Pablo Menares and Jorge Roeder.
